Talk:Using Spellcheck in NeoOffice
From NeoWiki
This page is too big; we need to fork it into "Neo 1.2 and earlier" and "Neo 2 and later" --sardisson 15:20, 24 July 2006 (CDT)
- Done. Still a bit large and unwieldy, but much better. --sardisson 10:24, 25 July 2006 (CDT)
I added yoxi's steps directly into the wiki. I'll work on rays's next. If you need to edit yoxi's steps because I didn't follow protocol or missed something, please let me know so I can learn. Also, I had a question concerning yoxi's choice of the word "assignation." In my dialect of English, that word usually refers to a clandestine romantic encounter. I didn't change it because a) I thought it might be the proper technical term and b) I don't want to presume that my dialect of English is the "standard" one for use on the wiki. I'd like some input from others on whether or not it "assignation" should be changed to "assignment" (or something else) --Lorinda 11:41, 21 October 2006 (CDT)
- I made a few quick changes, to shorter, more descriptive headers with explanatory sentences underneath, and made the change to "assignment". We don't have an official policy, but the majority of the English editing is done by US English speakers, so in cases of unclear or ambiguous terminology US English is currently the default ;)
- Can you change the window/dialogue titles from boldface to quotes? I know the style guide is ambiguous, but since there are also menus and buttons in those instructions, having the window names in quotes will help distinguish. (I really need to finish getting styles set up for those :/)
- NeoWiki style is to not actually use the signature/attribution line in the articles themselves (just on Talk pages), and on pages that don't have a "References" header for the links to trinity posts, we've typically just kept the original link in the page, in HTML comments <!-- here is the hidden comment --> in case we need to find it again.
- Hope all this is clear. Great job, and thanks for doing this! —sardisson 13:06, 21 October 2006 (CDT)
