Reimplementing the OpenOffice.org registration and survey

The Help>Registration menu item in OpenOffice.org points to a web registration form and survey. (This item runs by default on the first launch of each new OOo version; it has recently [1.1 Beta Patch-7] been re-enabled in NeoOffice/J and points to the Donations page.)

Ideally, this should point to a registration form (and survey if desired) on NeoOffice.org.

Things to do:

  1. Find the source for this menu command in the code (config files, hard-coded in the app source, etc.)
  2. Decide on registration form and/or survey questions
  3. Set up infrastructure on NeoOffice.org to handle the new registration system (link trinity/wiki support resources at the end of registration?)
  4. Discuss ways of passing Neo/J user statistics back to OpenOffice.org.
