You can insert an image in a NeoOffice document, so that it appears in background of a part of the text or a part of a table of a Writer document, or of a cell in a Calc document.

Inserting an image in background in a Writer document
Inserting in text
- Go to the Insert menu and the sub-menu Picture, then choose From File…
- Navigate to the image file, select it and click on Open
- Right-click or Ctrl-clic on the picture. In the context menu which appears, choose Wrap, then in Background.
- In the Anchor context menu, don't choose As character.
Inserting in a table
- Set the cursor in a cell of the table.
- Go to the Table menu and choose Table Properties…
- In the Table Format dialog, click on the tab Background
- In the As section, choose Graphic
- In the For section, choose the field in which the picture must be inserted: Cell, Row or Table
- Navigate to the image file, select it and click on Open.
Inserting an image in background in a spreadsheet
- Select the cell in which you want to insert the image
- Go to the Insert menu and the sub-menu Picture, then choose From File…
- Navigate to the image file, select it and click on Open
- Right-click or Ctrl-clic on the picture. In the context menu which appears, choose Arrange, then To Background.
- To access an image that has been placed in the background, open the Navigator window (via the Edit menu), click on the little triangle near the Graphics icon and double-click on the title of your image.
