In addition to this wiki, there are many places to find documention and other information about using NeoOffice. Many of these resources are written for OpenOffice.org, but most of the time they apply equally as well to NeoOffice. When working with information about OpenOffice.org, remember to use the Command key in NeoOffice when the OpenOffice.org resource mentions the Control key.
The resources below are all in English. Sometimes there are resources available in one language but not another. If you speak or read one of the other languages supported in this wiki, you may want to refer to this article in another language; links are provided at the bottom of the page. Resources specific to a particular module (Writer, Calc, Base, Macros, etc.) are more likely to be listed in the wiki pages dedicated to those modules than here.

Free User Guides and eBooks

A Conceptual Guide to NeoOffice 2 for Mac OS X by R. Gabriel Gurley
- This is the only NeoOffice-specific book that we are aware of. The book is available as a paperback book for purchase from a variety of outlets worldwide. The book is a 288-page guide written by an educator and includes ten hands-on lessons that walk users step-by-step through the creation of various documents.
- The official OpenOffice.org User Guide, available in draft form as a PDF.
OOoAuthors.org OpenOffice 2.x Guide
- OOoAuthors has a guide to using OpenOffice.org 2.x, explaining many of the features and common tasks.
OOoAuthors.org Office Migration Guide
- A guide to switching from Microsoft Office to OpenOffice.org 2.x, explaining the differences in many of the features and common tasks.
- StarOffice is the commercial version of OpenOffice.org that is sold by Sun Microsystems for Linux, Solaris, and Windows. While there are differences between the two, about 90% of the documentation is directly relevant for NeoOffice 2.x.

- A comprehensive guidebook by a trainer with extensive experience with OpenOffice.org.
Training Workbooks by Solveig Haugland
- Training workbooks on various modules/functions of OpenOffice.org. Lab files for working through the exercises are available on this page as well.
OpenOffice.org books available from www.lulu.com
- From this site you can purchase print copies of the OpenOffice.org Guide and the OOo Authors guides to the various modules. Other books on OpenOffice.org are also available, in print and/or as a download.
Forums, etc.
- The official support forums for NeoOffice.
- User-to-user support forums for OpenOffice.org. An exellent source of information and assistance on the various modules of OpenOffice.org (and thus NeoOffice).
OpenOffice.org Community Forums
- A newer user forum for OpenOffice.org. Currently fewer posts are left unanswered than in the OOo Forums listed above. Many regulars in this forum frequent OOo Forums as well, so double posting is not reccommended.
- Not precisely a forum. Enter a keyword, phrase, or question, and the knowledge base will provide related articles.
- The OpenOffice.org wiki now includes documentation pages. It includes FAQs, Howtos, etc.

OpenOffice.org Help TNT: Tips'n'Tricks that somehow didn't make it to the help (yet)
- A sporadically updated blog with tips on using various aspects of OpenOffice.org. A menu bar at the top lets you chose the module or category you are interested in.
- A well organized blog of OpenOffice Tips, which can be searched by category. The blogger is in the process of changing to WordPress. An list of articles from the old blog can be found at richhillsoftware.com.
Tutorials
- Visual tutorials from InPics provide tutorials for many common tasks in Writer, Calc, Impress, and Base.
- Screencast-tutorials.com provides online help for OpenOffice.org in the form of Plan-B animated software manuals
- These well organized tutorials can be either viewed on-line or downloaded as Writer files (with supporting Calc, Impress, or Draw files, as appropriate). This means that you can print them locally and build-up a complete reference set. The early tutorials in each section are designed for those with little to no experience with office suites.
- Web-based training and streaming video tutorials for OpenOffice.org
- Student created video tutorials for Open Office, including one on customizing the thesis template.
- The link will take you to the tips for toolbars, but there is a navigation bar on the right to other tips.
