When using Safari, if you click on an FTP url, such as the ones to download OpenOffice.org X11 or XDarwin, Safari does not open the link in the browser window. Instead Safari mounts the FTP location to the Finder as if it were a network drive.
This means after clicking on the FTP link, go to the Finder to navigate through the FTP link.
Gecko based browsers, such as Camino, Mozilla do not act this way. For these browsers, the FTP location will open in the main browser window.
