These are the Release Notes for NeoOffice 3.3 Beta 2, currently available for testing. Release Notes for NeoOffice 3.1.2, the current stable version, can be found here.

Current Beta Version

The latest Beta version of NeoOffice is: 3.2 Beta.

NeoOffice 3.2 Beta requires an Intel Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.5.8 or higher. Some Aqua features will appear differently depending on your version of Mac OS X.

Patches

If you want to receive announcements whenever a patch or new release of NeoOffice is available, there are several options available:

  • NeoOffice has built-in update checking, which by default checks for updates once a week.
  • Trinity users can sign up for email notifications of any release or patch announcements posted in this topic by clicking on this link.
  • If you prefer feeds to email, you can subscribe to our patch and release announcements RSS feed by clicking on this RSS feed using your web browser or feed aggregator.
  • Twitter users can also follow NeoOffice on Twitter for patch and release announcements.

Current Patch

There is no patch available for NeoOffice 3.2 Beta.

Older Patches

NeoOffice 3.2 Beta Early Access includes all of the fixes previously available in NeoOffice 3.1.2 with Patch-5, but it requires a new, full download.

New Features in NeoOffice 3.2 Beta

If you have not downloaded a release of NeoOffice since version 3.1.2, there are several new features in NeoOffice 3.2 Beta. Some of the most significant include:

  • Mac OS X 10.7 Lion compatibility; the following components were rewritten to ensure compatibility with Mac OS X 10.7:
    • Text layout and rendering
    • Copy and paste
    • Drag and drop
  • Expanded font support using CoreText (including support for Windows OpenType fonts for right-to-left and complex scripts)
  • Significant reduction in size of PDF files
