Current Patch

3.1.2 Patch-17 is now available. The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • NeoOffice’s “Export as PDF” code now produce ssignificantly smaller PDF files than before
  • NeoOffice’s copy, paste, and drag and drop code has been reimplemented using newer APIs in advance of Apple's upcoming Mac OS X 10.7 “Lion” release

Note: 3.1.2 Patch-17 requires a full installation of NeoOffice 3.1.2 and will not install on any version of NeoOffice 3.1.1 . Patch-17 includes all fixes and additions of previous patches.

Older Patches

3.1.2 Patch-2: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed an issue that caused linked Calc formulas not to update
  • Fixed an issue where pasting HTML into Thunderbird contained extraneous data
  • Fixed a possible crash when using the “Export as PDF” function
  • Fixed excessive CPU usage when opening an embedded OLE object in Writer

3.1.2 Patch-1: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug where the File :: Save As menu item defaults to ODF file format instead of current document format
  • Fixed an issue where the Printer Options dialog displays incorrect Notes setting
  • Fixed a problem where focus moves to wrong window after closing a floating window
  • Fixed a bug that caused header content not to be saved in .doc files

NeoOffice 3.1.2 includes all of the code in NeoOffice 3.1.1 with Patch-2 plus fixes for several bugs reported by our users after NeoOffice 3.1.1 Patch-2 was released.

Unfortunately, there is no patch available to upgrade NeoOffice 3.1.1 installations to NeoOffice 3.1.2. The bug fixes that we made after NeoOffice 3.1.1 with Patch-2 was released are too large to include in a patch. As a result, NeoOffice 3.1.1 users will need to download and install NeoOffice 3.1.2.

Below is a list of the bugs in NeoOffice 3.1.1 with Patch-2 that we fixed in NeoOffice 3.1.2:

  • Fixed a bug with the behavior of Home and End keys in Calc
  • Fixed a crash when opening a certain .doc file
  • Fixed a possible crash when pasting web content into a Writer document
  • Fixed an issue where Arabic letters would appear disconnected with Geeza Pro on Mac OS X 10.6
  • Fixed a bug where glyphs appeared misaligned in the Special Characters window
  • Fixed an issue where rotated text in Impress documents would appear incorrectly when exported to PDF
  • Fixed rounding problems in PDF export code that caused poor kerning in PDFs using the Garamond Premier Pro font
  • Fixed a bug in subscript kerning in Impress
  • Various fixes to support running under Apple’s latest Java Developer Preview for Mac OS X 10.6

New Features in NeoOffice 3.1.2

If you have not downloaded a release of NeoOffice since version 3.0.2, there are several new features in NeoOffice 3.1.1. Some of the most significant include:

  • Security and Stability Improvements
    • Temporary files are encrypted when FileVault is enabled
    • Fixes for bugs that cause embedded images to be lost after saving Writer or Impress documents
  • NeoOffice Mobile menu is now available when no documents are open
