Current Version

The latest version of NeoOffice is: 3.0.

NeoOffice 3.0 requires a PPC or Intel Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.4.11 or higher. (Users of Mac OS X 10.3.9 should continue using NeoOffice 2.2.5.) Some Aqua features will appear differently depending on your version of Mac OS X.

Patches

If you want to receive announcements whenever a patch or new release of NeoOffice is available, there are several options available:

  • NeoOffice has built-in update checking, which by default checks for updates once a week.

Current Patch

3.0 Patch-17 is now available.

The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a problem where the Sun Presentation Minimizer extension license agreement could cause Patch-6 installation to hang

Note: 3.0 Patch-17 requires a full installation of NeoOffice 3.0 and will not install on any version of NeoOffice 2.2.5 or NeoOffice 3.0 Early Access. Patch-17 includes all fixes and additions of previous patches.

3.0 Patch-6: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Added support for a Mac OS X user default to determine which module opens when launching the program
  • Fixed a possible crash when opening a certain .doc file
  • Fixed a problem where the Sun Presentation Minimizer crashes NeoOffice
  • Fixed a bug where the update check dialog window appears twice when starting with the -nodefault launch option
  • Fixed a problem that prevented RTF files with MacRoman encoding from being read properly
  • Fixed a problem where PDF export does not work with some fonts on Snow Leopard
  • Fixed an issue where Chinese text input gets lost when using the ITABC input method
  • Worked around a bug where Mozilla address books cause very high CPU usage

3.0 Patch-5: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented command-arrow keys from moving to end or beginning of line
  • Fixed an issue where the cursor jumped when Delete key is pressed
  • Fixed a possible crash in Base when using Mac OS X Address Book
  • Fixed a problem where deleting would not function properly in certain fields
  • Fixed a bug where some information in certain .doc files may not displayed

3.0 Patch-4: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Improved menu display speed
  • Fixed a bug where cropped EPS images did not appear in slide shows
  • Fixed a problem where the Media Browser cannot keep focus when Java 1.4 is used
  • Fixed an issue where NeoOffice could crash after pressing Command-Z

  • Implemented significant speed improvements in:
    • Spreadsheet formula calculation
    • Menubar display
  • Fixed a bug that could cause extension update check to fail on PowerPC machines
  • Fixed a case where NeoOffice could crash when opening a certain .doc file
  • Fixed an issue where the spinning beach ball pointer would appear frequently when accessing menus
  • Fixed an issue that caused excessive CPU usage when quitting
  • Worked around a bug where transparent pixels in pasted images are shown as black pixels
  • Fixed a bug where it was not possible to dock the slide pane in Impress
  • Fixed a bug where menus are blank after an Impress slide pane is undocked
  • Fixed an issue where slide handouts always print 6 slides per page in Impress
  • Fixed an issue that caused form controls to be clipped out completely when printing
  • Fixed a problem where spreadsheets embedded in Writer documents are stretched when using "Export as PDF"
  • Fixed a bug where "Export as PDF" creates incorrect output
  • Fixed Thonburi font kerning errors on Mac OS X 10.5

3.0 Patch-2: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed incorrect layout when pasting hidden rows or columns from NeoOffice Calc into Microsoft Word 2004
  • Fixed a problem where PDF export of rotated text was distorted
  • Fixed a crash when copying table and saving to a .doc file
  • Fixed a hang when pasting text into Base SQL window
  • Fixed a hang when selecting a choice form control
  • Fixed a crash when opening a .doc file with certain form controls
  • Fixed a crash when dragging a Finder document over a NeoOffice window while the window is opening
  • Fixed a problem where the command key would be ignored when released at same time as a mouse button
  • Fixed crashes that could occur in certain cases when a NeoOffice was updating the system clipboard

3.0 Patch-1: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed possible causes of occasional deadlocks in menu updates
  • Fixed a bug where a certain .xls file could cause crashes when opened on PowerPC
  • Fixed copy-paste incompatibilities related to line endings with various third-party applications
  • Fixed a problem that led to drawing artifacts remaining when dragging tabs in rulers
  • Fixed an issue where NeoOffice failed to launch on recent Snow Leopard seeds
  • Fixed a bug where font ascent could sometimes returns zero
  • Fixed an issue that caused no contrast on check and list boxes in form
  • Fixed a problem where sometimes it was not possible to unhide rows in spreadsheet
  • Fixed a bug where Base could crash after creating report
  • Fixed an issue where percentages in Calc cells were treated as zero
  • Fixed a problem which led to EPS images appearing larger in slideshows than in edit mode
  • Fixed a bug which could cause improper kerning when exporting to PDF
  • Fixed a bug that caused sending a document via e-mail always to use Apple Mail
