Current Version

The latest version of NeoOffice is: 2.1.

NeoOffice 2.1 requires a PPC Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.3.9 or 10.4.9 or an Intel Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.4.9. Some Aqua features will appear differently depending on your version of Mac OS X.

Current Patch

2.1 Patch-17 is now available.

The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Extensive performance improvements in image scaling and drawing speed, most notably in presentations or scrolling large documents
  • The cursor no longer blinks when NeoOffice is in the background
  • Aqua controls no longer appear active when NeoOffice is not the active application
  • Fixed a problem where Fontwork art could not be be moved or resized

Note: 2.1 Patch-17 requires a full installation of NeoOffice 2.1 and will not install on any version of NeoOffice 2.0 or NeoOffice 2.1 Early Access. Patch-17 includes all fixes and additions of previous patches.

Older Patches

2.1 Patch-3: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fix a crash when printing on Mac OS X 10.3
  • Fixed a problem where saving a file as a different type does not change the extension

2.1 Patch-2: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • EPS postscript is no longer rasterized when printing
  • Window close buttons now show that a document has been edited
  • Fixed a bug where it was not possible to open files from an iDisk volume
  • Fixed an issue where it was not possible to open files from a Netware volume
  • Fixed crashes in native file dialog on some machines
  • Fixed an issue where the "Save As" dialog resets to default size
  • Fixed an issue where Export to PDF via File :: Export menu happened without a .pdf file extension
  • Fixed a problem where input of Shift-Enter, Control-Enter, and Command-Enter were doubled
  • Fixed a problem where menu text and icons were not showing on Mac OS X 10.5 seeds
  • Fixed an issue where lines had different thicknesses when printed
  • Fixed an issue with landscape printing of Writer document with Epson R220 printer
  • Fixed an issue where printing of Writer document is offset and cropped
  • Fixed a problem where it was not possible to start presentations on the second screen
  • Fixed a hang while a Base document is open


2.1 Patch-1: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a crash when pasting from AppleWorks
  • Fixed a problem printing with different page styles
  • Fixed an issue where XHTML, Latex and Bibtex exports failed
  • Fixed an issue where A3 printing from Calc causes clipping in printed page
  • Fixed an issue where shift+enter, ctrl+enter and cmd+enter double the command
  • Fixed a problem where Help no longer listed correct/transformed accelerator keys
  • Fixed an issue where the "direct cursor" feature did not work
