This is the official wiki for not one, but two free Mac OS X ports of OpenOffice.org, the ultimate open-source Microsoftâ„¢ Office-compatible "suite" featuring a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, drawing software, and much more.

The stable, fast Java-based version. ("Java-based" UI-wise, but 99% C++!) Actively developed and recommended to new users. The beta of version 1.1, based on OpenOffice.org 1.1.3, was released on December 21, 2004.
