Corrections/Clarifications to Add:

Option key is not recognized by Java/NeoOffice, cannot be used in internal shortcuts dialog.

System Preferences shortcuts can only be applied to items in the NeoOffice Menu.

See bug 1762 for more details on the System Preferences issue.

Update on the above based on a post in trinity from Smokey:

-current instructions work on 10.3.9 -issues above apply only to 10.4, and maybe only if Java 1.5 is selected (as opposed to 1.4.2)

jgd verified that it works with 10.4.9 (Intel) if using Java 1.4.2
