Current Version

The latest version of NeoOffice is NeoOffice 2017.33.

NeoOffice 2017.33 requires an Intel Macintosh running macOS 10.12 Sierra - 10.13 High Sierra.

(NeoOffice 2015 is still available for users with Intel Macs running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion - macOS 10.12 Sierra; NeoOffice 2015 is not compatible with macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later.)

You can find the MD5SUMs for current NeoOffice downloads on the NeoOffice MD5 Checksums page.

Updates

If you want to receive announcements whenever a patch or new release of NeoOffice is available, there are several options available:

  • NeoOffice has built-in update checking, which by default checks for updates once a week.
  • Users can also follow NeoOffice on Twitter for update announcements.

2017.1 Classic Edition: This version fixes the following bugs:

  • If the "Always save as" preference had been changed to .docx, .xlsx, or .pptx before upgrading to NeoOffice 2017, NeoOffice could not save files after upgrading to NeoOffice 2017.
  • When exporting as PDF, NeoOffice 2017.1 would use the incorrect symbol font for bullets and other symbols in the PDF file.

New Features in NeoOffice 2017 Professional Edition

This version is a new version of NeoOffice that is based on LibreOffice. While previous versions of NeoOffice were based on the OpenOffice code, NeoOffice 2017 is based on the LibreOffice 4.4 code.

We switched to the LibreOffice 4.4 code because the LibreOffice code is able to open and save Microsoft Office .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx documents with fewer errors than the OpenOffice code.
