Current Legacy Version

The latest legacy version of NeoOffice for users of Mac OS X 10.3.9 is: 2.2.5.

NeoOffice 2.2.5 requires a PPC Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.3.9, 10.4.11, or 10.5.6, or an Intel Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.4.11 or 10.5.6 (users of Mac OS X 10.4.11 or 10.5.6 should upgrade to NeoOffice 3.0). Some Aqua features will appear differently depending on your version of Mac OS X.

Patches

If you want to receive announcements whenever a patch or new release of NeoOffice is available, there are several options available:

  • NeoOffice has built-in update checking, which by default checks for updates once a week.

Current Patch

2.2.5 Patch-10 is now available.

The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a problem where PDF export does not work with some fonts on Snow Leopard
  • Fixed an issue where Chinese text input gets lost when using the ITABC input method
  • Worked around a bug where Mozilla address books cause very high CPU usage

Note: 2.2.5 Patch-10 requires a full installation of NeoOffice 2.2.5 and will not install on any version of NeoOffice 2.2.4. Patch-10 includes all fixes and additions of previous patches.

2.2.5 Patch-13: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a possible crash in Base when using Mac OS X Address Book
  • Fixed a problem where deleting would not function properly in certain fields
  • Fixed a bug where some information in certain .doc files may not displayed

2.2.5 Patch-12: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Improved menu display speed
  • Fixed a bug where cropped EPS images did not appear in slide shows
  • Fixed a problem where the Media Browser cannot keep focus when Java 1.4 is used

2.2.5 Patch-11: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug where menus are blank after an Impress slide pane is undocked
  • Fixed an issue where the spinning beach ball pointer would appear frequently when accessing menus
  • Fixed a bug where "Export as PDF" creates incorrect output
  • Fixed an issue that caused excessive CPU usage when quitting
  • Worked around a bug where transparent pixels in pasted images are shown as black pixels
  • Fixed Thonburi font kerning errors on Mac OS X 10.5

2.2.5 Patch-10: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a crash when dragging a Finder document over a NeoOffice window while the window is opening
  • Fixed a problem where the command key would be ignored when released at same time as a mouse button
  • Fixed crashes that could occur in certain cases when a NeoOffice was updating the system clipboard

2.2.5 Patch-9: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed possible causes of occasional deadlocks in menu updates
  • Fixed a bug where a certain .xls file could cause crashes when opened on PowerPC
  • Fixed copy-paste incompatibilities related to line endings with various third-party applications
  • Fixed a problem that led to drawing artifacts remaining when dragging tabs in rulers
  • Fixed an issue where NeoOffice failed to launch on recent Snow Leopard seeds
  • Fixed a bug where font ascent could sometimes returns zero

2.2.5 Patch-8: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug where the second monitor may not detected when connected
  • Fixed occasional deadlocks in menu update
  • Fixed a problem where OpenOffice.org code would deadlock when opening document with control characters in name
  • Fixed a possible crash when stopping a printer
  • Fixed a problem where the patch installer hangs when installing on Snow Leopard
  • Fixed a bug where the Command-Shift-F10 key combination would not dock dockable windows

2.2.5 Patch-7: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug that caused the warning dialog not to appear when quitting while a document is minimized
  • Fixed a crash when the Help window is displayed from Find and Replace dialog
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when pasting a table copied from Microsoft Word
  • Fixed a bug that caused the grammar checker to fail on some files when invoked using the "Entire Document" menu item

2.2.5 Patch-6: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug where only the audio track would play in slide show movies.

2.2.5 Patch-5: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • NeoOffice now respects the "Jump to here" setting in the Appearance System Preferences.
  • The Print sheet will no longer attach to floating toolbar windows.
  • Fixed a bug on Mac OS X 10.5 where radio buttons and checkboxes retained the active appearance when their windows were not active.
  • Fixed a bug where playing a sound in the Gallery could cause NeoOffice to crash.
  • Added a hidden setting to disable all trackpad gestures in NeoOffice.

2.2.5 Patch-4: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented compatible Services from working in some circumstances on Mac OS X 10.5.

2.2.5 Patch-3: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug where OLE object resizing could cause a crash
  • Adjusted the magnify or "pinch" trackpad gestures so that they are not hypersensitive
  • Support for the Mac OS X Services menu within NeoOffice (read-only)
  • Experimental support for developer seeds of Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard"
  • Security fixes for two security vulnerabilities in NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice.org code

2.2.5 Patch-2: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a problem where Export as PDF with math symbols produces corrupt PDF file
  • Fixed a bug where scrolling in the Help window renders improperly on laptops
  • Fixed an issue where saving Office 2007/2008 files does not warn of potential formatting loss like when saving Office 97/2000/XP files
  • Fixed a bug were it was not possible to open files from Finder after cancelling a .csv file import
  • Fixed a problem where it was not possible to drag and drop data source field names

2.2.5 Patch-1: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a bug where moving margins with a PSD image background could cause a crash
  • Fixed a bug where double-clicking would not always work on G3 and G4 PowerPC machines
  • Fixed an issue where modal dialogues could display underneath floating tool windows
  • Fixed a problem where Java system update on Mac OS X 10.5.5 caused fonts to display much too large
  • Added a Spanish translation to the Media Browser

New Features in NeoOffice 2.2.5

If you have not downloaded a release of NeoOffice since version 2.2.4, there are several new features in NeoOffice 2.2.5. Some of the most significant include:

  • Added support for using an Apple Remote to run presentations
  • Presentations run up to two times faster in NeoOffice 2.2.5 than in OpenOffice.org 3.0
  • Added ability to customize folders displayed in the Media Browser
  • Saving in Web Layout View no longer forgets cursor position
  • Updated Akua icons and high-resolution Finder icons
