These are the Release Notes for NeoOffice 3.3 Beta 2, currently available through the NeoOffice Early Access Program (or via a personal build from the source). Release Notes for NeoOffice 2.1, the current freely-available version, can be found here.

Current Early Access Version

The latest Early Access version of NeoOffice is: 2.2.1.

NeoOffice 2.2.1 requires a PPC Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.3 or 10.4 or an Intel Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.4. Some Aqua features will appear differently depending on your version of Mac OS X.

Patches

Current Patch

Patch-1 is now available.

The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • Fixed a number of problems related to popup menus in multiple screen setups, including a possible crash
  • Fixed an issue causing languages to appear duplicated in the spell-checking preferences
  • Fixed a crash in slideshows when the presentation featured fontwork objects

Note: Patch-1 requires a full installation of NeoOffice 2.2.1 and will not install on any version of NeoOffice 2.0 or NeoOffice 2.1. Patch-1 includes all fixes and additions of previous patches.

Older Patches

NeoOffice 2.2.1 includes all of the fixes previously available in NeoOffice 2.1 with Patch-7, but it is based off of the OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 codebase and requires a new, full download.

New Features in NeoOffice 2.2.1

If you have not downloaded a release of NeoOffice since version 2.1, there are dozens of new features in NeoOffice 2.2.1. Some of the most significant include:

  • Based on OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 codebase
  • Support for Microsoft Office 2007 Excel and PowerPoint document formats
  • Support for Mac OS X 10.5 Beta
  • Access to the Mac OS X Address Book as a data source
  • Use of the native Mac OS X spell-checker for supported languages
  • Enhanced the Akua set of toolbar icons with a more Aqua appearance
