Welcome!

This is the official wiki for not one, but two free Mac OS X ports of OpenOffice.org, the ultimate open-source Microsoftâ„¢ Office-compatible "suite" featuring a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, drawing software, and much more.

NeoOffice/J

The stable, fast Java-based version. ("Java-based" UI-wise, but 99% C++!) Actively developed and recommended to new users. The beta of version 1.1, based on OpenOffice.org 1.1.3, was released on December 21, 2004.

NeoOffice/C

NeoOffice/C, the older, highly experimental, less-stable Cocoa-based version. Not active any more. (Note: "C" is for Cocoa. That's good enough for me.)

More Info

OpenOffice.org Mac OS X (X11)

Although this wiki is focused primarily on the NeoOffice applications, there is also some content that is specific to the X11 build, and there are some tips that apply equally to all OpenOffice.org-based applications.

The content relevant to OpenOffice.org Mac OS X (X11) is collected on the OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X (X11) page.
