This article describes known issues for running NeoOffice on Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta. Follow us on Twitter @NeoOffice to get notified when we fix any El Capitan Beta issues.

Problems after upgrading to El Capitan Beta?

If you are having any problems with NeoOffice after upgrading to Yosemite, we recommend you try the following steps. If these steps do not fix your problem, send us a bug report:

Step 1 - Download and install the latest version of NeoOffice

  • NeoOffice Mac App Store users:
    • Upgrade to NeoOffice 2017.33 from the Mac App Store
    • Install the latest test patch for NeoOffice 2017.33
    • If NeoOffice does not launch or NeoOffice Free Edition launches, we recommend that you try the following steps. These steps will force Apple's App Store application to redownload NeoOffice:
      • Quit NeoOffice if it is running
      • Move NeoOffice to the Trash and empty the Trash
      • Reboot your machine (note: this step is very important because if you do not reboot, the steps below may not work)
      • Launch Apple's App Store application, select the Store :: Sign In menu, and login using your Apple iTunes account
      • In the App Store application, click on the "Purchases" icon and press the "Install" button to the right of NeoOffice
      • Wait for NeoOffice to finish downloading before you try to launch NeoOffice
  • NeoOffice 3.x users:

Step 2 - If the above steps do not fix the problem, submit a bug report

Fixed bugs

  • NeoOffice would hang when opening a new window while in full screen mode.
  • Typing text in a full screen mode window would fail.

If you are running OS X El Capitan Beta and you find a bug, send us an e-mail with the following information:

  • Tell us which version of NeoOffice you are using
  • List the steps that you think trigger the bug
  • Attach any documents that are needed to reproduce the bug
  • If NeoOffice crashes or hangs, attach a crash log or a sample from the Activity Monitor application

We can only fix bugs that we can reproduce so please give us as much information as you can to help us reproduce the bug.

Most bugs require a lot of work to fix so we work on any crashing and hanging bugs first. If we have any time after fixing those bugs, we work on any bugs that are caused by Apple's OS X El Capitan Beta changes.
