[edit] Current Version

The latest version of NeoOffice is: 3.4.1.

NeoOffice 3.4.1 requires an Intel Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.6.8 through Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite. Some Aqua features will appear differently depending on your version of Mac OS X.

You can find the MD5 checksums for current NeoOffice downloads (main binary, language packs, and patches) on the NeoOffice MD5 Checksums page.

[edit] Patches

If you want to receive announcements whenever a patch or new release of NeoOffice is available, there are several options available:

  • NeoOffice has built-in update checking, which by default checks for updates once a week.
  • Twitter users can also follow NeoOffice on Twitter for patch and release announcements.

[edit] Current Patch

3.4.1 Patch-16 is now available. The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • When opening, editing, or saving lengthy, 100+ page Writer documents with tables, NeoOffice now recalculates page breaks and table cell sizes in the background in small chunks over the course of a few minutes. By deferring the recalculation, you no longer need to wait for the recalculation to finish before you can continue editing your documents.
  • When printing, exporting to PDF, or previewing lengthy, 100+ page Writer documents with tables, NeoOffice now displays a dialog if recalculating page breaks and table cell sizes takes more than 30 seconds. This dialog gives you the option to cancel the recalculation. If you cancel the recalculation, NeoOffice uses rough guesses to set page breaks and table cells and immediately proceeds to printing, exporting to PDF, or previewing your document.

Note: 3.4.1 Patch-16 requires a full installation of NeoOffice 3.4.1 and will not install on any version of NeoOffice 3.3 or NeoOffice 3.4.1 Beta. Patch-16 includes all fixes and additions of previous patches.

[edit] Older Patches

3.4.1 Patch-15: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • NeoOffice no longer pauses after several swipes. NeoOffice's swipe event handling code would sometimes pause for a moment if the user swiped several times in a row.
  • Swiping or moving the scroll wheel very slowly will now move only a single line or row at a time. Before, NeoOffice would randomly jump 2 or 3 lines when swiping or moving the scroll wheel very slowly.
  • When swiping or moving the scroll wheel rapidly, the page or row number tooltip no longer flickers rapidly. The flickering tooltip was caused by NeoOffice's underlying OpenOffice code closing and reopening the tooltip after each swipe or scrolling event.

3.4.1 Patch-14: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • When running on OS X Yosemite, NeoOffice would sometimes draw Arabic characters on top of each other.
  • One of the bug fixes that we added in NeoOffice 2014.6 would cause NeoOffice to sometimes scroll slower than normal.
  • NeoOffice would crash when entering data into dBase database tables that have a unique index.

3.4.1 Patch-13: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • NeoOffice would sometimes crash when quitting.
  • When saving .ods files that were originally created in OpenOffice or LibreOffice, NeoOffice would require the user to reset the password for each protected sheet.
  • When clicking on cells in .ods files that were originally created in LibreOffice, NeoOffice would fail to select any cells in protected sheets.
  • NeoOffice would draw punctuation characters in Japanese vertical text in the wrong position and with horizontal font glyphs.
  • When querying for null values in spreadsheet data sources, empty cells would be treated as if they were not null.
  • When sending a mail merge to a file instead of to the printer, NeoOffice would fail to create the mail merge file.

3.4.1 Patch-12: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • When running NeoOffice on OS X Yosemite and exporting a document to PDF, all text in the document that uses a Type 1 font would not be displayed in the exported PDF.
  • When running the Mac App Store version of NeoOffice and documents are kept open for more than a day, OS X would sometimes delete NeoOffice's temporary files. This would cause saving any open documents to fail until NeoOffice was relaunched.

3.4.1 Patch-11: The new changes included in this patch are listed below:

  • After closing a full screen document window, NeoOffice no longer makes all visible windows hidden.
  • When in a Calc document, merged cells can now be selected using the Shift and arrow keys.
  • When in a Calc document, editing a cell that has been scrolled off the edge of the document window no longer causes the cell's formula to be drawn in the wrong position.
  • When in a Calc document, the NeoOffice :: Services menu no longer uses text from the last selected combobox instead of the currently selected cell.
  • When in a Writer document, the NeoOffice :: Services menu no longer uses the last selected text even after unselecting all text.
